There are ways to maintain a bathroom vent fan. Bathroom vent fairs were made to pull moisture out of the room. As they get older, they become a lot noisier. People stop using them and that defeats the entire purpose of having them. You should check them out four times a year and see how they are doing. If you are having issues with the vent fan, then replacing it might be a good idea too.
