Two women won an award on March 6, 2018 from The Manufacturing Institute. One of these woman is a project manager, the other is an account director. This was a women in manufacturing specific award. Women are statistically underrepresented in the manufacturing labor force. That’s what the larger “STEP Ahead” initiative seeks to address. Two spokespeople from Johson Controls reiterated the need for good women manufacturing role models. Johnson controls has been doing a lot of diversity efforts in the past few years.
